PC restarts when I run Furmark or BF3 - Page 2

Can't be the PSU, plenty of power with room to spare. CPU at load is taking 233 watts so that's about 20 amps and the recommended power for a 670 is 30A with only a 500W PSU minimum. Unless the PSU is older and not as efficent now I can't say it's the PSU causing the restart.

Remove all audio drivers and install those clean too.

Furmark and BF3, both GPU intensive...

New drivers, do a clean install.

I updated the nvidia drivers straight from their site. Still the same result.
You need to wipe the previous installation first.... otherwise it's pointless. wink.gif

Mul-Mul-Multi Post!

Could it be the Power Supply? Yes but unlikely
Bad Video Card? More likely
If system is stable and nothing is getting to hot then I would look at your video card.

Run a furmark test, try the GPU only test first then try a burn in test. Burn in should push your systems power level to the max

Thread Starter
Ok so I have done fresh installs of almost every driver I can think of. I deleted the original driver then installed the new one.

I also tried to run furmark on only the gpu.

I still got the same result... a restart.

I had GPU Shark open and watched the power consumption %. As soon as it gets over 100% (i.e. 102.2%) the restart occurs.

Ok, clock your CPU as high as you can and then run Prime95.

How old is your power supply? They can and do lose capacity over time i Just replaced my 3 year old 650w Thermal take on my rig, and a 2 year old 700W OCZ on my brothers amd rig. If you have more hard drives lights extra fans try unplugging and give it a test see if it makes a difference.

I once had the problem that every time i would add anti aliasing in games the PC would crash and restart found out later that the problem was that my PSU was crap it was a LC Power Arkangel 850 watts and as soon as i replaced that POS PSU the problem stopped what would be the couse of this not enough amps on the rails?

Assuming that the Seasonic unit is running fine, perhaps you overlooked something simple, if your GPU has multiple PCI-E power connectors try to re plug them in and also the 4 or 8 pin cpu power connector? hell just check all the power connections. not trying to be condescending, overlooking the small things happens to the best of us.

Edit:
Also, if you've ever even attempted OC, and there was any instability, even if you went back to stock clocks, you may need to repair your windows install.
