Hey guys,

I recently started a job as a Network/ Server Administrator at a local hospital. However, I really don't know much about servers tongue.gif. Well, I'm getting my trial by fire because I walked into a heck of a mess with this place. Servers are crashing all around me.

The one of particular interest to me right now is our back up server. It is the one that rules them all. All of our servers back up to this one. The bad part is that the RAID 10 broke. It uses a RAID Controller Card by Adaptec. I'm not sure of the # of drives yet.

Here is what is going on: In Windows the drive shows up under "My Computer", it shows 566GB free space of 1.36TB. You can double click on the drive and it will show you the directories but you can't copy, paste, or save a new file to the drive. It always says that it can't find the file. Or when you try to save a new file, it says it can't find the place you want to save it to. Now, when you go to the disk manager, it shows that 1.36TB as unallocated space.

If I reallocate the drive, do you all think that would fix the problem?

Being a hospital, they really hate for us to take anything down (i.e. power cycle or anything similar) unless absolutely necessary. So, I have not done anything to it yet. I have just been reading as much as I can about the issue hoping someone else has seen the issue.

Any help at all would be great.
