3D models of computer components in Autodesk Maya

Thread Starter
I have recently started a project to out do my last one. I only have a couple of models that are presentable but they still are not done themselves so let me know what you think!!! My goal is to have an animation of a pc building itself. But I want it to be perfect and have every nut, washer, screw, bracket, component, etc...

That looks really interesting, I'd love to see it once it's completed as I've dabbled in CAD and animation but not too much but those look like some nice models. Good luck thumb.gif

Thanks a lot!!! You should check out this one I did in high school (video link). Basically that is what I am doing but I am going all the way. My new goals with this "remake" is to focus on the general population. If you notice the parts I am using so far are not your typical enthusiast parts. The computer is going to be more like a budget gaming pc. Also I want to take the modeling, lighting, and animation to the next level provided tons of detail. And then of course as I mentioned earlier I want to have every single piece that goes into making a computer. I want someone to watch the video with no prior experience, and then be able to go and build a computer.

It seems to me that you are not using any specular/bump maps in your models. They really add an extra layer of realism.
