I would use a gtx460 at least but thats just me. im sure you could get away with a lower card if all it does is physx

Two quick threads to help you out in your decision, but I would suggest not going for anything under the 6XX family except 450 and 460 . The prices and energy consumption's start to go badly with the higher end cards but the lower end cards cuda performance really isn't up to stuff. I know you want to be frugal with price but at the same time idk how much if any those lower end cards will help vs just paying for a cheap used 460 768 card for like 80 bucks.

thanks for the links smile.gif i might try and get a gtx 470 for around 100$, i assume that would be a pretty good card for just physx correct? Anything else you'd recommend?

It would be but the power consumption and Heat might not be worth the added cost over something like a 640/650/450/460. But if you're looking for pure performance it's a great card for a very nice price at only 100 bucks.

Thanks. Out of the cards you listed which one would be the best?

650

640\650 both are relatively inexpensive and will produce very little heat while not using too much juice.
