Does it not have just a plain reset button on the back?

Nah... A lot of boards use a jumper system so it is harder to do by accident (yes I have accidentally reset my CMOS before and lost my OC rolleyes.gif)

Lol... It's fun so far smile.gif... I like the system as a whole, but its a dificult change from being use to 775, and only low OCs on 1155 tongue.gif

I guess it's somewhat more understandable with so many bios options.

I can save my oc's so it's not a problem for me, but I still think it should have a button.

I like rog boards over most others, except maybe Gigabyte for cheaper stuff myself...
Yours is a solid clockers though, should work good for this project thumb.gif

As for the low oc part, 7ghz on ln2 is low for ya? biggrin.gif
I could run 4.7ghz easily on air without delidding my chip and it wasn't exactly a brilliant 3770k.

Have you got any extra parts already?

Btw, x79 barely manages eight quad channel dimms at 4GB with a speed of 1600 without overheating. You have to add more voltage to ram and wc your chipset. Good luck on your oc.

tbh, i like the features of the RIVE the best out of all the x79s, but its layout is somewhat lacking... i picked the XPower beacuse it had by far the best layout out of all the boards that met the specs i needed... i also have to admit that this is kind of a showy build to attract some people on the edge, so i am rather concerned with the looks of it (much more so then i normaly would be with a build for myself)... its also why i will be trying a few new things (like tubless and a couple others) that i havent done much before

as for the oc, i was rather dispointed... i hit 8GHz, on theHS that came with the proc, but wasnt able to hit the 10 i wanted rolleyes.gif... lol tongue.gif... the reason im only aiming for 4 atm is because the 3930k pumps out quite a bit of heat and i am only running an H80i atm tongue.gif

its sad to think that i wont be able to pump out this RAMs full potential on air, but i plan of WCing it all anyways so i hope that helps smile.gif... also, TBH i only got this ram cause it was the same price as the 1600MHz kit lachen.gif... well atleast it should allow me some decently higher clocks smile.gif

so i just reset the CMOS and everything is all good now... i didnt end up corrupting the bios, but i did manage to corrupt the boot disk, and dumb me i hadnt made a back up image yet, so that is what im doing currently smile.gif

How long is that Crossfire Bridge you got on some of your pics there? As you got a lot of room between your cards but last I checked there was no Crossfire Bridge that was long enough to fit my cards on PCI-E 1 and 3, when they are in 1 and 2 they are so frickin close to eachother the temps go crazy frown.gif

It's roughly 4 expansion slots long smile.gif... I have seen bridges up to 9 slots, but you generally need to get them from specialty places... Mine came with my Mobo smile.gif

Can you measure it? I tried to find a longer than 100mm CF Bridge and they don't seem to exist, would be insane to find one that is longer than 100mm.

100mm should be about 7 expansion slots... That should be long enough for just about any configuration, but if you really need longer I would try browsing ebay smile.gif
