Good luck, funny thing is I've heard recently that the XFX 7970's have been doing much better than the old DD coolers and cards so I hope this is an anomaly.

Well i think i found the culprit. It actually is hardware acceleration. Since that makes the GPU render flash videos and such so i've heard would that be a Driver issue or the GPU itself?

No i am certain it is the culprit.

With similar FPS with both the 6970 and 7970, I would definitely say it is a CPU bottleneck. An overclock or upgrade would be the best option to get more out of your card.

Yes, i am planning to upgrade very soon, but i still don't see why i would get those weird screen problems with hardware acceleration using my GPU on flash player... Something has to be wrong.
such as this

im going to try and return it and hopefully i can get a new card such as the Gigabyte Ghz edition one.

I should OC my cpu, but i have been told my MOBO cant handle it. Also keeping in mind that i am using the stock cooler.

Wow doing overclocks looks really complicated. I might just wait for my upgrade to an i5 3750k

Mmm not really you just gotta wrap your mind around it. Anyways, OC'ing your CPU/NB to 2400-2600 from the stock 2000 should only cost you like 1C or not even in voltage. Totally worth it. There's tangible FPS gains to be had by doing so! The Phenom II architecture benefits from higher bandwidth to the CPU via the NB on the cpu. Note the NB on the cpu is different from the one on the motherboard.

I had a 955 + m4a77td, bad vrms, moved to a 970a-ud3 and had 4.2 stable with my NB unusually high for a non-thuban @ 2790mhz.
