Gigabyte HD 7970, won't connect dual monitors. Stays blank and then resets.

I am new to computers and this is my first build. So be easy if I don't understand right away >_<. Keep in mind my computer runs 100% fine with one monitor plugged into dvi. No matter what if I even try to use my hdmi cable on a single or dual monitor the screen stays completely blank and I am not sure why, it just says no dvi after it's plugged in for a bit and then nothing. I tried to extend the monitors and it works but the screen still stays black but acts like it works and after a few minutes my computer will BSoD and then reset giving the same general error everyone else gets. I just downloaded the 12.6 beta drivers, and it still does so while leaving a blank screen. Sorry if this is not enough information. I am very bad for explaining! I was thinking of just returning the cable to get an hdmi to dp cord.

Update: Reinstalled all drivers and now the screen with the hdmi still stays black but I can select it and customize it on ccc/personalize it just doesn't load any sort of image. The Asus backround loads and then the screen stays black once it goes away.

We are sure that it is not a fault with the monitor?

aside from that it sounds like a driver issue

All monitors work perfectly fine by themselves with a dvi cable, no monitors work with the hdmi cable. Period, no picture even comes up when it plugs in. It no longer gets the BSoD but it still stays blank.

bad hdmi cable, or the port on the card is bad or the HDMI driver is futzing up.

Did you touch any of the HDMI cables while the power was on?

I tried both my tv amd computer hdmi but it still does the same thing, and tis what I thought it is to, but multiple reinstalls haven't done anything. As in plugging and unplugging while on? Yes.

Update tried a new HDMI cord and it's still blank, it just says like no dvi output..is there something I need to do on CCC for hdmi to show up? It still lets me select the monitor but it doesn't show up.
