Getting my first SSD

Thread Starter
I'd like a minimum of 120GB as close to 100 bucks as I can get and saw this G.Skill one. GSkill has been great to me when I've used their customer service and been using their memory for years, but how is this SDD?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231613

I also usually run my games on a separate HDD from windows. I plan on using the SSD for my games so my question is, if I keep windows on my normal 7200 RPM drive, will it slow down game loading on the SSD? Or should I just install windows on the SSD and partiton it for games?

How does it compare to the G.Skill? I've personally dealt with GSkill's customer service and they treat you like a king every time. Also the stats on the Gskill seem to be slightly better?

I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to SSD so fill me in! What's so much better about the 840? Also I don't order from TD, they only ship UPS and they have terrible customer service. I stopped using them years ago.

Samsung 830 and 840 are really good brands. 840 has more performance since it's newer model. Here's the 840 120GB:

The Samsung 830 is faster than the 840.

The 840 Pro is faster than the 830.

this^ i love my 830 and would recommend it over the 840 non pro if you can find it at around the same price but a 840 at $99 is hard to pass up. keep an eye out for online deals as well
or for $30 more this SSD is worth a look
