I'm interested in getting a piece done also. Perhaps he would do it cheaper if we had multiple pieces to do?

Here's my previous lighted panel making fun:

The panel and LED array for lighting it

Closeup of the panel- two layers of laser engraved acrylic
Logo cut on top surface of top part
Filter is black Krylon engraved on back surface of bottom part

Back of LED array, showing parallel/series wiring.

Not shown: Sign white acrylic diffuser (identical to LED array support but no holes) on top of LEDs, and 1/4" gap between LED array and diffuser and the two upper panel pieces.
The effect is not only perfectly even illumination, but a lot of depth to the panel as you walk around it.

Looks very nice! I can't spoiler the pictures because I'm on my phone...

I do believe the panel cost me about $60-70 to have done. The max size was 7.5" x 18". It wasn't cheap but worth it. I honestly don't know why it was so much...

So the current problem I'm having is trying to figure out how to attach the pieces of U-channel together. I think I may go back and try to cut them at a 45* angle and see if that would work. Hopefully my friend will be able to weld them together for me.

Cut the U-channels at a 45. Make some L-channel pieces that fit inside of the U-channels. Drill them and rivet them together.

This is how I did the frame the second time, it worked MUCH better! I need to make the L shaped pieces and get some rivets which will be done tomorrow!
