It'll be a muffled echo chamber.

This is what I would do: take out hardware and sell the case or give it away to charity, first purchase new steel case as said earlier.

FINALLY! SUCCESS! wheee.gif

I tried the tape method and the wood shelf method as suggested but neither worked. The former wouldn't hold and the latter was far too big for the space.
Instead, I found a way to mount both the box AND isolate the noise even more!

I took my old Louisville Slugger bat, two books, and 2 other boxes and wedged them together. This created a solid base for the bat so it wouldn't wiggle/move. Plus, the added pressure from the book against the case eliminated most of the low pitched hum.
The high pitched ringing is still prevalent, so I figure I'll have to fill both boxes with something to dampen it even further. Probably packing peanuts to reduce weight and add sound blockage.

Still, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED biggrin.gif

I never really understand what trolls like this get out of their actions.

It's sorta like Rickrolling. I mean, I left that kinda **** behind in 2nd grade when I realized that "Made you look!" wasn't actually the height of wit.

Also, I understand that the couple of you who jumped in with both feet were just trying to be helpful, cut c'mon. Really?
