Want to watercool Maximus V Formula Mobo+ CPU only using Corsair 600T

I am planning to buy an Intel i7 3770k processor and planning to use the Maximus V Formula Motherboard in a Corsair 600T.

And I want to watercool both the processor and motherboard only to make it overclock proof. Even though Watercooling the motherboard is not that necessary, I do want to watercool it.

I am a complete newbie at Water Cooling and would very much appreciate some help regarding it and what kit would be the best for me in this situation. I do not look forward to mod my 600T for this purpose. I was planning to buy XS PC RayStorm 750 RX240 WaterCooling Kit but I am not sure if it will fit the 600T or if it will be enough to cool the mobo and CPU.

Any kind of help would be very much appreciated .

Thank you!

From what I've read the block that comes stock on the MVF is very restrictive and will mess with the flow of your loop. I would recommend either not integrating it into your loop or looking into the EK water blocks for your board. I have a MVE and I run it OC'd and folding 24/7 without water on the board

What if I am willing to use any other case? I have a budget of 200 dollars for the casing. Is there any kit which will let me watercool the Maximus V formula using the stock block that comes with it and the CPU only? It would really look neat that is why I want to do it so bad. I am ready to be flexible with the casing if it looks a bit decent and is a bit tough.

Thanks for helping me out.

The case doesn't matter as long it can fit your watercooling loop. Have a look at this video where they put together a basic loop using a MVF..

If you're going to use the stock thermo fusion block on the MVF just make sure you're using a nice pump with a high flow rate.

Having the same dilemma, planning to add the thermal fusion thing to my loop in the future even invested in dual ddc 355 pump (highest head pressure)
however I dont see the point to watercool motherboard, heard it would only get the most benefit if you OC you CPU to 4.8ghz and above
but at the moment my temp is fine with 4.5ghz

regarding the case, if you are going to only cool the CPU + mobo, yes 240 rad is enough
and a mid tower is more than capable to hold 240 rad
any specific brand you are looking at?
maybe with corsair you can try the C70? its best if you do some research and come up with a couple of options and ask for advice from there

there are no kit that come with max V motherboard block

Hi! Welcome to OCN! I love the 600t, awesome choice in cases

Check out the 600t case club for ideas on rad placement and wire management. Yiu have a ton of options and members there have gotten 240/360s on the tops and 200/400 rads in the front, one member even added a 200 rad on the main side panel. Pretty neat stuff, good place for inspiration and to ask questions specific to your case!

Thanks a lot guys for the help! Really appreciated! But I just checked out the Corsair C70 as Jotrik said and it really looks good as well. I really am in love with the 600T's looks, the simplicity of it. That is why the C70 looks good as well. So will C70 do the job without any modification to it?

And I will definitely check out the 600T club. I am just not very good doing these things. I have a feeling that I will not do a very neat job with it alone.
I come from a country where labour is really cheap! I would have just get it done from some workshop. I live in Toronto now. Do you guys know any shop in Canada who will take care of this whole watercooling thing for me?

And yes I am really doing this mostly for the looks. And the stock block which comes with the maximus V will feel really wasted if I just keep it like that. May be I should give up all this ideas and get a Z77 Sabertooth and go with the H100i for the CPU only?

Hey, everyone here started out like you and worked their way up. You'd be surprised at how easy it can be - even if you've never built a pc before.

Main thing is to plan and layout in your head/notes the components and realize that you're sticking a radiator and a pump and a reservoir into a pc along with the usual components. And you can buy an all in one kit like the Corsair/Thermaltake models, or a kit from the custom loop component makers that come with a reservoir with a pump attached, a radiator, fans, and tubing and fittings.

If you can handle a screwdriver, you can build a pc. Don't forget to read up on the OCN threads in the Cooling forum and the Computer Cases forum - lots of great info and pix and text about people who have built a watercooled pc and are showing it and sharing it online.

Welcome to OCN ;D

What kind of flow rate am I looking at?
