[CVG] Crysis 3 will require all but "less than 1%" of console horsepower - Page 11

I never played Crysis 2, is there a significant difference between it and 1?

I hear it is not as open as the first.

1. It's quite a bit more linear
2. the nanosuit is alot more simplified.
3. graphics (mostly textures) are somewhat poor compared to the first Crysis
4. Storyline doesn't make a lick of sense.
5. Multiplayer is CoD style, as is singleplayer but still has quite a few Crysis 1 elements in it.

Not really. If it was a PC Exclusive... wouldn't the same thing that happened to Crysis happen to Crysis 2? Hell, Crysis 2 is still widely pirated!

Also nice conspiracy theory there. You're grasping on straws, and pure assumptions.

Finally, you should really play Call of Duty, and then Crysis 2. Crysis 2, while I will admit is dumbed down from the original, is nowhere near the linearity of the CoD titles. There is still tons of exploration and choices to be had. They gave up a little of the open world, so that most gamers regardless of platform could now take part in the series.

Edit: And again, I have to point out what CryTek has done for the PC Community. At the worse, Crysis 2 is the Windows Vista of Crysis games. When Windows Vista came out, did all PC Gamers and consumers who thought it sucked just lose all hope in Microsoft?

Even if you guys didn't like Crysis 2, that was one game. ONE GAME, and all of you act like it's the apocalypse. These are the guys that in 2004 revolutionized PC FPS, and in 2007 made PCs worldwide cry in pure pain and agony, and after one screwup, you lose all hope and yell sellout.
Shame. The PC Community is by far the worse bunch. Console "kiddies" are exactly that. Kids. You'd expect them to act immaturely. But the PC Community is predominately adult (at the very least late teens), and this is how we act. Shame.....
Crysis 2 wasn't just some screw up. They Purposely made it the way the did because the people over at Crytek didn't like how much Crysis 1 was pirated. So they pledged to not make another PC exclusive game again and look where it got them.

Not only did they ruin what could have been a great series, they ruined the story line, the graphics, and the whole uniqueness of the game. All for what? so it could be played and "enjoyed" on consoles. They could and should have stayed with the basics, and kept Crysis the way it was ment to be, but yet again because of consoles they didn't have much of a choice.

Now we wait for Crysis 3, which is be another Crysis 2 with a storyline that yet again doesn't even link itself to the original, Call of Duty style gameplay, and no real replay value.

That post is either a joke, troll or ignorant post.
Crysis 2 wasn't a screw up at all. Yeah, they pledged not to make another PC exclusive and you know what they got? They got a fantastic multi-platform engine that made optimization real for the series. The storyline has nothing to do with what platform it is on. The graphics remained fantastic.
You blame consoles when they are not and will never be the problem.

1: Not as much as you think. And it's not a bad thing.
2: That is a good thing.
3: From what I have seen, Crysis 2 has better textures.
4: Personal problem.
5: No where near close to CoD style. Fast paced =/= COD.

All I know is its on the same engine as the last game and the alpha RAN LIKE DOG ****... If anything the Crytek team will purposely optimize the game to make you Crytek your way back to unnecessary upgrades... The alpha map was the size of fy_iceworld and the graphics looked exactly the same as crysis 2... I wasnt impressed all and the game still sucks... the only thing they made different is added longer sprinting but you still cant strafe and sprint LOLOL ... I dont know, I was excited till I played the beta and was just disgusted... I predict the online C3 will fail within the first 6 months just like crysis 2 did... wink.gifwink.gif

Unnecessary upgrades? They are not forcing you to upgrade. Unless the PC version is DX11 only, this will play across a lot of computers.

That's why I play with an Xbox controller connected to my PC. Best damn thing ever!

In addition, I'm pretty sure this thing will overheat consoles easily. Prepare for a pandemic of housefires!
