The Last Story was terrible imo though. I thought I would really like Mistwalker games because they're made by Sakaguchi and he made FF. TLS was really bad and Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on 360 were fricken' abominations. Last Story has some cool gameplay ideas but executed very poorly. The characters and story are very generic and there's little motivation to keep going. Also, there's some HUGE spikes in difficulty later in the game, one boss in particular had me completely stuck (he's a grim reaper-elemental type thing... you'll know when you get to him).
Okami I haven't played. I haven't played Sin and Punishment (if we're talking about the N64 one that never came out here) but I have played the sequel for Wii and it was pretty good, but a little twitchy. No comment on the others. (I just sold Hyrule Warriors a couple of weeks ago. Talk about overhyped.)
Finished Pandora's Tower, got the A and S ending (I prefer the A ending), liked the game I was glad I played it.
Now I'm 11 hours in The Last Story... I'm starting the see what you mean about the story. Regarding the romantic main characters - I don't care AT ALL about them - it's one thing to have cliche characters, which it does, but they have no charm no reason for me to care about their relationship, nothing like Pandora's Tower. Every time I pick up the control to play this it feels like a chore. Maybe I should have played The Last Story first.
