That arcade stick is solid. It says it has genuine Sanwa parts. If the buttons are the standard 30mm (probably Sanwa OBSF-30-W) then you can replace them with whatever other buttons you want. You could even get clear ones with inserts and put your own art inside them. You could get ones like this. The stick could probably even be swapped out. This assumes the stock buttons and wiring harness use quick disconnects. If not, you may have to desolder the wiring harness from the buttons and stick to replace parts.

The price, though, is around what you would expect to pay from a custom stick maker. I don't really know any off the top of my head since I've been out of the scene for a while. But, you could probably find one on the shoryuken.com forums under the Tech Talk section. For that amount of money you could get a fully custom stick with whatever kind of box you wanted, and the ability to put your own art in (Print a Mega Man wallpaper and put it in!) Additionally, most custom stick makers can get custom PCBs, multi PCBs and modified PCBs that allow for the stick to be multi-system. You could have it support more than the Xbox One. It's your call but I'm happy I went the custom route.

My stick.

Doesn't get used much anymore.

i would never use that for the xboxone, just pc ! hope kodi / that os i shared takes it - but yes, you can also swap out the art on that razer one and it comes with several extra parts, and yes they use female terminals ( WIRING - yes i have ones, when asking for female wiring terminals - been told i was sexiest- and when buying a nipple [3/4 black pipe] ironically ) you should watch that video.

if i had time i would just buy my own parts and make it- but meh i have a baby and zero time ! very pretty though

Thanks.

I didn't see that you could swap out the art..

I didn't realize you wanted it for PC. There might be cheaper alternatives with similar quality parts for less money. You could get a used 360 or PS3 fightstick and it should work on PC. There's also the HRAP (Hori Real Arcade Pro), those have really heavy, big boxes that won't fall off your lap. They've made the HRAPs for like 15 years now and an older one on Ebay should run cheaper. I just looked and the cheapest one was $120 or so used.

I watched the video just now and yeah it's really nice. I love how it pops open. Quick disconnects for sure. If you have the money and want quality, yeah it looks quality for sure but I think I would still prefer a pretty wood box.

Anyway I'm gonna make a post in the retro club about arcade sticks and I think we should talk more about it there, seeing as this is the Wii U thread. tongue.gif

I've got a custom made arcade stick wired for PS2 that cost around $250. The box the guy a month to make. It's curly maple stained cherry red with about 5 coats of clear coat on it. The parts are all authentic Japanese seimitsu buttons + stick. I used to be really into modding it, changing the art, changing the buttons (between Sanwa and Seimitsu) and so on. Trust me, a custom made stick with the real Japanese components is much better than even the best mass-produced "Fightsticks" made by Hori etc. (Real Arcade Pro).

There's really no contest between a stick and a pad for fighting games, pads are far less accurate and fast. But you have to learn to play on a stick and this takes a long adjustment period. Once you learn, though, it becomes almost impossible to actually play on a pad again and do well. Still, the d-pad is inherently superior to an analog stick for these genres. Using an analog stick for fighting games is like trying to play golf with a baseball bat.

I didn't like Street Fighter 4 either, I do like Street Fighter 5 though.

I mostly play Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, Tekken, and Guilty Gear. I'm mostly playing KI and brushing up on Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- until the new fighting games start coming out in February and later in the year.

I like the Fightsticks with pure Sanwa parts the most, the Hori Kuro buttons feel a bit off to me their Hayabusa sticks aren't too bad though and Seimitsu buttons require too much force for me.

i like this unboxing as it really as it really shows the product, you can listen to him or not ! (Click to show)

i like the fact i can get it, and from what i can tell i can replace anything for it

looking forward to using it for metal slug, it was fun on a dpad but i miss playing it in a arcade ! that stick was so much more fun !!!

I have that stick its great, all Sanwa buttons and Joystick; its really easy to mod in general since its really modular and the PCB is common ground.

DoktorCreepy, discussion has been moved to: http://www.overclock.net/t/1467413/ocn-retro-the-overclock-net-retrogaming-club/300#post_24775823

Since this is the Wii U owners club we're trying to keep it on topic.

Great that you play fighting games though. I pretty much retired because the only games I'm good at are 3rd Strike, Alpha and Super Turbo. I'm not a very competitive person either so the tournament scene holds no interest for me. Additionally, I have a slew of other consoles and games I want to play and I feel like if you want to have a chance at winning a large tournament, you have to play nothing but the game you want to win, and I'm not willing to do that.

If you're interested I would highly urge you to sign up for the retro game club. There is also a Sega club here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1225232/official-sega-ages-the-ocn-sega-fan-club if you are interested in/have classic Sega consoles.

So whats everyone doing with their WiiU lately? I'm taking a break from XCX, I finished the final chapter but still have to do all the missions. I downloaded all the GBA castlevania games on the virtual console and the Golden Sun series. I'm just about done completing Circle of the Moon right now, so I think I'm good for the next couple of months.

I've been playing shovel knight, other than that I played a round of Splatoon today (played terribly too) There is a Splatfest happening next saturday (Pokemon Red Vs Pokemon Blue) in NA so I'll be playing more of that this week to get myself used to the game again. I've tried to think of a level idea for Mario Maker but I haven't been happy with anything I've started and keep scrapping my ideas. I played through most of Metroid Zero Mission when it came out (NA) a few weeks back, made it to the final boss and got destroyed, then I went exploring for more energy tanks and stuff (and got bored)

Most of my time has been spent in minecraft recently though, as I like to play that when I'm watching Anime.

I'm very excited for the Fire Emblem Fates launch next friday too (have the SE preordered too!)

I have taken a long break from my Wii U. Will be getting back on before the NX comes out. I have so many games yet to finish.

Wii U is at EOL this FY, Ninty only forecast 800k consoles shipped for the year (this FY they shipped 3.2m). Time to buy up all those games you've been eyeing before the prices go up.

Humble bundle has a bunch of wii U and 3ds games in it.
The space adventures one is a pretty fun puzzle game.
