It's about time to have "The Official Nintendo Wii U Owners Club". We're growing in numbers & we need to have a common place here at overclock.net to share some information about the Wii U.

The Wii U comes in 2 flavors, the Basic Set (white) with 8 Gb of storage space & the Deluxe Set (black) with 32 Gb of storage space. The Wiimote & Nunchuck controllers from the previous Wii console will work with the Wii U. It also comes with similar controllers packaged for the Wii U & can be purchased separately.

This set comes with all the necessities for Wii U gameplay, plus access to a wide range of online entertainment and features. (Priced at $2.99)

This package comes with everything you need to start playing right out of the box-including the Nintendo Land video game, plus additional storage space and accessories. (Priced at $349.99)

Optional Accessories:

Wii U GamePad Stand

Wii U GamePad Cradle

Wii U Console Stand

BTW Wii U users, Playon is now on the Wii U. I tried it yesterday & had mixed feeling about it. The thing is, it's free (limited offer for Wii U users). You can check the link below.

There's also a Youtube video on "How to stream videos to your Wii U GamePad". You can check the link below.

Ubisoft's Uplay app is also available to download for free at Nintendo eShop.

I'm actually not sure if I'm going to get the basic or the deluxe pack. To be honest, I'm not particularly fond of the deluxe color scheme, much preferring the original Wii white color. I've heard something about the deluxe version coming with some perks software wise beyond Nintendo Land. Like some special subscription to something. Not sure.

OTHER then the color scheme, I want what's in the Deluxe pack if money allows for it. It's not like Nintendo Land is EXCLUSIVE to the Deluxe pack or that I can't get the charging cradle after. I'm mostly just saying I haven't seen anything that is selling me on the deluxe pack alone, that I wont be upset at all by getting the basic pack (forgot to mention, I literally have a 500GB external hard drive that is not in use, so storage space is not an issue for me). Like I said, it's not like I can't get the other perks elsewhere.

Is there ANYTHING that is in the Deluxe pack that can't be had with the Basic pack with some later purchases?

I think you need the motion adapter for it to work.

I like the white (Basic Set) better. I owned black consoles (PS2, Xbox 360, etc.) & it's time for a change. Both my teenage daughter & son like black colored stuff & kinda hard for me to decide at first but my wife already bought me a white iPhone 5 & I like the clean looks so I picked up the white one. It looks cool where I put it in my kitchen. I got to cook, eat & play at the same time (not so sure if this is a good idea

). I also got a Sandisk 32 Gb USB flash drive ($18.00) for added low profile storage. I don't like to buy stuff on eShop as I like the actual game disk itself so I should be OK with this storage. I might add another 32 Gb USB flash drive if there's a new firmware patch coming to make the (2) USB drives work when use both.

Don't mean the sensor bar. I am talking about the adapter that was needed on first gen wii remotes to be able to play games that were very motion sensitive.

I got the deluxe pack a week back, and have already gotten 60% completion in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Level 31 in Black Ops II, World 4 in New Super Mario Bros. U (I probably played it the least, lots of problems >.>) and played NintendoLand with friends a bunch! I love it, and I also have a Pro controller that is fantastic, especially when playing multiplayer.

I bought the Black Ops 2 game yesterday & tried it on the Wiimote Plus & Nunchuck controllers. The game looks stunning even on the gamepad screen. The problem is... I can't seem to get the proper setting on the Wiimote. The movement is very jerky. How do you set this thing?

Go to Best Buy, Target or Walmart if you live in the US. There's tons of them especially at Best Buy. Looks like nobody's buying anymore Wii Us for Christmas. Almost every electronic retail stores here in the US has stocks.

First off, I don't have a best buy in my area. At all. I only have Walmart and lesser known places. Walmart, at least yesterday, didn't have anything but white Wii U's in my area. Same with other retailers and game shops.

HOWEVER! I never stopped looking. Returning to a smaller retailer, I spotted one today and asked them successfully to hold it for me through tomorrow. I asked why they didn't have any yesterday, just got a shipment today. And there was only one left when I found it. Double checked some other retailers, turns out I got REALLY lucky getting the hold (saw them put it in the backroom and everything).

So yes, assuming the money is there (and it should), I'll manage to get a Deluxe Wii U tomorrow. Whew...

Kids finally got to open it up.... then we sent them to their grandparents for a week.

Picked up Batman AA since I never got it for pc and gamepad use looked fun with it. Only put about 5hrs into it so far but it's quite amazing to behold games that look so good on a Nintendo system.

Sonic Transformed... maybe I never paid enough attention to the previous iteration for Wii or maybe the announcer constantly yelling at me while the kids played turned me off. Regardless... I am quite impressed with this racer. Mario Kart framework is paying off for this one. It's a gem for Sega fans with more depth than any mario kart I've ever played. The best part? Sharing is quite painless as you can multiplayer nearly the entire game.
