Thread Starter
I have another thread , were i'm asking advice about a new C2D rig for my friend , and I just thought of a thing.
What would be a better perfomer a D 805 or a Athlon 64 3800+?
Without oc, wich would be the winner?
I have seen some benchies , were the D805 gets beated by the 3800+, but i just wanted to confirm with you guys.
Thanks

Well If that 3800+ is an X2 I would take that over the 805. However if its not an X2 go with the 805.

The 805 is option from a E6300, because if we save on the cpu now , he can put the money on a sata2 hd , and a new case.
Or maybe some watercooling , because 805's overclock like there's no tomorrow!

The 3800 would perform better, but that 805 is one great overclocker. Some people have reached over 4GHz on it easily. i know you said that you want a cmparison without overclocking, but the 805 has much more OC potential than the 3800.
