No you would want a processor labed i7 because it has hyper threading. i5's do not.

If I don't have the money for an i7 would I be better of with an AMD chip or the Intel i5 3570k

You would be better off with a AMD 8350. Over the intel 3570k.

For video cards, yes. For power supplies, no. They actually use seasonic power supplies and rebrand them. It is a great way to get a really stable PSU for cheap. thumb.gif

you will most likely be happy with either chip. They are both fun to overclock from what I hear too. I just wanted to provide an alternate build to Intel. In some cases, the 8 cores of the fx are better (like video and photo editing). The 4 cores of the i5 are faster than 4 of the fx cores. Gaming will be a little faster on the i5 and editing might be a little faster on the fx. Pick your poison and have fun thumb.gif

I would make one change. Get the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ EVO, which is the newer model.

enjoy the build!

i suggest a few changes. think and decide.

get the PCS+ HD 7850 2GB. fastest factory overclocked HD 7850 at 1 Ghz. good cooler.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131472

go for the ROSEWILL CAPSTONE 450 for 63 bucks. 80 Plus GOLD rated power supply. 5 year warranty. 37A (444w) on +12v rail. more than enough for even a HD 7900 card. the Corsair Builder series is no match for the Rosewill CAPSTONE in terms of quality of components and efficiency.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066

ROSEWILL Challenger gaming case for 50 bucks. 1 front LED 120mm fan, 1 rear 120mm fan, 1 top 140mm fan.
