Thanks Cole! It's much better now:
I had lots of foamy type stuff in there. I think a lot of gunk came loose even though I rinsed the rads. Maybe the awesome power of dual D5s got some crap moving.
You could actually see teal-colored blobs floating in the foam, and this was AFTER a full 12 hour leak test, drain, and refill:
Not being happy with that, I ran to Home Depot and spent $75 on a handy new toy, errr, I hope:
Since I have 2 pairs of QDCs, I decided to put them to different use and installed a pair in the rear:
Why did I do that you ask? So I could interject something to help clean up the crap in the loop. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to........
Yeah it's only got 2 arms, not 8, but it reminds me of Dr. Octopus from Spiderman.
So I filled up the loop with everything disconnected, except for external power for the pumps and let it run for a bit. I filled it up as much as I could, ran it for about 15 minutes, then plugged OctoFilter into the loop:
After about an hour of running with the filter, the gunk appears to be gone, and there is no more foamy stuff. It seems to have cleaned up the water significantly, or maybe just the drain/refill got rid of most of it:
Hey look, a hole:
Let's get closer:
Cloppy: great minds think alike! After draining the loop for the 3rd time already, I thought about how to use what few fittings I have left to incorporate the 2nd GPU. I shouldn't have given up on that so easily. The plan is in mind, and it might not even be *too* ugly. We shall see shortly!
