You forgot the years of added mental and financial stress, the arguing, having to cater to someone's idiotic needs just to get 10 minutes of sex, etc. biggrin.gif That release only counter-balances all the issues those evil creatures create in the first place. wink.gif I'm with Pepe, avoid those expensive things!! Kinda sucks that sex with them is so much fun though.

I finally got off my lazy arse, and managed to get a few things done. Nothing major, but progress was made! Finally got some sleep too, thank god! On with the show.

So I decided to relocate my tube reservoir. The fact that I had a big red water tube cutting across my bling was bothering me. I didn't have enough angle fittings to properly re-run that tubing, and I was curious to see how the tube would look horizontal. I started with this ugliness (notice how the 140 rad bulged out the case panel):

1037_zps35e33ea0.jpg

Being limited with what fittings I had, I ended up with this:

1039_zps9775ee59.jpg

I finally set up a proper drain using Koolance QDCs. With the tube placed that way, the drain is hidden with the door on (notice the LED just hanging out in midair, LOL):

1049_zps5ca8ebbf.jpg

Things were a bit bubbly at first:

1040_zps99c3c0d8.jpg

Looks a bit soapy doesn't it:

1041_zps0a0dfa0e.jpg

It eventually got better:

1039_zps9775ee59.jpg

This actually looked like flakes of some kind. My first experience with plasticizer issues maybe:

1043_zps99210908.jpg

I also decided to set up a toy that I've had sitting in a box for weeks, the NZXT Sentry 50W/channel fan controller:

1045_zpsd33bc1d5.jpg

Thanks to a custom built cable from Hank at PerformancePCs, I wired up both my D5 variable pumps to run off channel 1, with my 360 ran fans running off channel 2. Lots of cables to run. Plus I also installed an 8-way PCB hub for fans (top center of pic below):

1046_zps9293ce4f.jpg

Surprisingly, when I was done, the door closed properly:

1047_zps5d53127c.jpg

For the first time in weeks, the case was completely closed:

1053_zpse10bcec4.jpg

It probably won't stay this way, but that's how it sits now. I also managed to make that 140 rad sit properly so that it no longer bulges out the case door. smile.gif I managed to move it about 1mm, but it was enough! LOL!:

1051_zps87bb2123.jpg

Not sure if I'll be keeping my pumps running like this though. So far, I've heard one (or both) of them shut down twice, and fire back up. Scary noises! I wonder if I'm pushing it by running both pumps on one channel. The fan controller can take up to 2 molex power inputs, and I'm only using one. According to the docs, if you're not exceeding 150W total, you only need to use one. I should be far below 150W here, with the 2 D5's (24W each, I hope), 3 CM fans, and one 140mm case fan. Not sure what's up with that, but I might put the pumps back on direct power just in case.

Oh the other thing: I'm finding these cooler master LED fans to have a very annoying whirring noise to them. They might need to go. Even if I power then down to ultra low speed with the controller, the same awful noise is still there. I can't tell if it's fan vibration noise, or a noise from the fan itself. Hard to tell. But it's maddening!

EDIT: thanks to Father Fuzzy for sending me the very nice EK clips that the tube res sits in!!! You da man FF! I finally got around to using those things! smile.gif Quality clips that work far better than the junk that came with the FrozenQ res.

I noticed the same with mine, I THINK its a vibration noise, you could try some anti vibration screws and see if its still there, and if it is replace the fans

I've been touching every screw just to find this noise, and nothing helps. I'm using fan grills on the inside, but pushing on those, the screws, the rad screws, doesn't change that awful drone. Did you change fans, or still running the noisemakers?

Still running them, Headphones work great wink.gif

if you apply pressure to the fan housing with your hand does the noise lessen or disappear?

It doesn't seem to change. That's the mystery, and possibly worst news since that may mean the fan motors are making that racket, even on low RPMs. I might swap them out in favor of the fans that came with my XSPC rad as a test. But those have a noise all their own. Not sure which is worse! I think I'll power down right now and do that.

Socketus: thanks buddy. smile.gif I'm not done yet. I desperately need some right-angle fittings to clean up my tube runs. Gotta do some online shopping today!

if your hand isn't absorbing the possible vibration then i would guess it to be a motor issue
