Can you buy 2 of the samsung wonder ram and mix them together to form dual channel? Instead of buying the dual channel kit.

so I've been reading around, would it guarantee dual-channel? since the "knowledgeable internet" says they have to be IDENTICAL. Just making sure because I could get dual-channel by dumping an extra few bucks

Even running 2x mismatched RAM modules would still be dual channel...

The recommendation for identical sets to be used stems from compatibility issues rather than dual channel issues.
