Excellent point, I was just going to say something similar. I hope everyone remembers to post problems on the Nvidia forums. More information/feedback never hurt redface.gif

Out of everything that is messed up on my computer thanks to this driver, downclocking is one issue I never had. This is on the new install you did too?...hmm... I'll be installing Windows 8 on my new HDD soon, along with this driver. It better damn-well work out a lot better than it did for us on my now broken Windows 7 wackosmiley.gif

This, no, not really, not yet at least. Even though that's like my main Forum board.

This driver doesn't work with Minecraft (for me at least). Random crashes, with nvogl64.dll at fault. Rolled back to 306 WHQL's and all is fine.

Lets hope NVidia start the new year by fixing their latest drivers which seem to be broken for most of us in one way or another. I get a lot of CTD if playing a game for longer than 30mins. I have downclocked a little and seems better but still not 100% stable smile.gif

Hopefully the new year will bring a new BETA to fix our problems

I just did a clean install of win7 on my system in order to fix a bunch of issues which I'm hoping was being caused by viruses. I've already installed the drivers/utilities from the DVD that came with the motherboard and also the default driver that came with the GPU (304.97). After going through this thread, I;m not really sure whether I should go for the 310.70 WHQL driver that I've just downloaded.

I should mention that I was using the 310.70 BETA before the windows setup, just in case the driver was causing the issues.

About deleting previous drivers : With all my AMD cards (3870, 5670, 6790), I used to download the latest drivers from AMD or MSI or Sapphire's site and install it over the existing drivers. I never faced any issues with this procedure. How important is it that I delete all previous drivers? Because the guide recommended seemed to require a lot of work (I apologize for my laziness).

I do not generally OC my GPU, so I look forward to improving performance through driver updates. But I don't want to have to install the OS again just for that, esp after I've already done it a few hours ago.

Should I install the 310.70 WHQL? If not, then which version should I download?

Thanks a lot in advance! I really appreciate the help! smile.gif
