[GeForce] NVIDIA 310.70 WHQL Certified Driver - Page 9

Has anyone else besides me noticed that the separate listing (for uninstallation) of NVIDIA PhysX in Control Panel --> Programs and Features is missing now? I was still there with 310.70 Beta. Every prior driver installation I've had in thes build has also had a separate reference to the PhysX drivers.

They are in fact there, as when I attempted to install them by hand I got the "repair or remove" popup. I typically do a custom installation of only the Display and PhysX drivers (no HD audio, 3D or NVIDIA Update). I checked Medal of Honor Airborne, Cryostasis, Mafia II and Metro 2033, and they're all launching and running fine.

I just know that sometimes people will uninstall/reinstall PhysX separately to run different versions to address specific issues, and wonder how you'd do that now.

Hey guys, I installed the beta drivers when they came out a few weeks ago, and now these are released so I'm thinking of re-installing them but I'd like to know if I keep installing drivers on top of each other ie; beta drivers, will I notice a difference? And will this cause problems in the future?

GOOD JOB NVIDIA! I never thought a simple driver update would eff up my OS like this. rolleyes.gif

just to clarify, your talking about windows explorer, not internet explorer right?

also what exactly is "autofrefreshing" anyway?

Well you shouldn't install the driver OVER the drivers. It's been recommended you're supposed to delete the driver first then the rest and then use Fusion Driver Sweeper and then restart it and install a FRESH clean install of the driver.

I have the drivers on my desktop too but not installed. Cuz i read and heard some ppl had problems. I recommend you download their PDF file too to review what works and what causes crashes. They have notes in there. Hope this helps.thumb.gif

I installed these drivers just now and my PC didn't explode yet, good sign?

yes windows explorer everything you do won't refresh. like copy/pasting. creating a folder, deleting a file etc. unless you right click> refresh nothing will happen. don't mind this post tho. I reinstalled windows. twas a hassle but it's done already so nothing to complain anymore lol

Driver Fusion is definitely safe, yes. I've been using it for a long time now. It's recommended by many, including myself, that you should never install drivers over the previous version, especially ones from a new family. Run Driver Fusion in Safe Mode and select Nvidia display drivers and Nvidia PhysX, then do the restart and install the new drivers.

Some people only do it when switching families , but I take the time to do it every time.

Installed this driver with a freshly installed windows 7, this driver completely disabled the GPU hardware acceleration in power director 11, I'm rolling back to the 306.97
