[Build Log] Project Zizou (965 to 3570k)

Hey guys! I've been kicking around the idea to upgrade my Phenom 965 to an i5 3570k. I recently sold my old truck and now have the funds to make it happen. I will be using many parts from my 965 build while purchasing a new MOBO, CPU, and CPU Cooler. The name comes from my favorite soccer/futbol player Zinedine Zidane.

Upgrades:
Intel Core i5 3570k
Hyper 212+
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H

Reusing:
CORSAIR VENGEANCE 8GB (Blue)
RADEON 7770 GHZ EDITION (Still debating upgrading to a GTX 660)
INTEL 120GB SSD
WD BLUE CAVIAR 500GB (Blue, obviously)
SEASONIC G SERIES 550W MODULAR PSU (Blue)
ANTEC 300 (Upgraded to Fractal Define R4)

The scheme of the build will be blue. I've thought about modding the antec case to add a side window but that may be somewhere down the line. If you guys have any suggestions for better parts or criticism please post.

I will post pictures as the progress comes along.

After much debating with myself, I decided to get the Fractal Design R4 case. Probably will stick to a blue accent scheme, just won't be visible from the outside. I should have the 3570k and Z77X-UD3H friday. Pictures coming!

Got my CPU + MOBO + Hyper 212 in today! Got the board prepped for tomorrow when my R4 will arrive. More pictures to come!

Got it all in and together. I'm in the process of doing some benchmarks. Probably could get this up to 4.4 (1gh OC!!) but I may wait to get an H100 or something.

I'm loving my R4 but I ran into a problem today. My built in fan controller's Molex connector broke. I took the pins out of the plastic casing and plugged it straight into the PSU molex connector. My question is, is this safe? Could I rap the exposed leads with electrical tape and it be okay? Or are they fine exposed?

I really like the motherboard. It seems to take an OC really well.. The only thing I can't seem to get to work is the Fan control for the case fans. I've done everything but they don't seem to respond to PWM or Voltage. Only the CPU fan does.
