MSI Afterburner not showing my 7970 correctly

Thread Starter
I recently upgraded from win7 to win8 and now I'm having problems.

Previously I had good control with afterburner with controlling the voltage and OC. I then decided to flash the "ghz" bios for my card and it was recognized as a normal 7970 with different clocks and voltage control was still intact.

Now, after upgrading windows and uninstalling/reinstalling afterburner is shows my 7970 as a lightening, and voltage control is not there, even with the box checked in the settings. I tried running trixx, everything is there but voltage control. ***? Is this a Win8 issue? (running 12.11 beta 8 I think)

Try delete the MSIAfterburner.oem file in the program files. That worked for me in win7. Had the same problem as you until i deleted it.

When i get home I'll try it. I'll delete the whole folder and anything with the name afterburner. And reinstall.

Just delete the MSIAfterburner.oem file in the afterburner program folder.

you're the man. I tried deleting every file and reinstalling, getting the same result.

Then I just left the installation in tact and deleted the file you mentioned and restarted MSIafterburner, and yay it worked! repped biggrin.gif
