Imo opinion your best of getting a gold rated psu btw. To me the price difference is not worth it.
I saw good reviews for this.

I havent personally used it, but 93% efficiency and platinum rating. Fanless 500W and modular.

Yeah this machine is going to be up 24/7 365 so I just wanted something as efficient as possible (without paying out the you know what for it) and for it to be at least semi modular

Seasonic's been revamping their lineup.

Old X Series fanless were 80 Plus Gold, SS-400FL and SS-460FL, very good power supplies.

New Platinum Series fanless are 80 Plus Platinum, SS-400FL2 / SS-460FL2 / SS-520FL2, even better than the old ones (not just an efficiency tweak but a new design).

That said, I would think it's the SS-460FL2 actually on sale, because they updated the product page to list Platinum, which wasn't how it was indicated before. Newegg seems to be in the habit of not updating product pages when new products / updates launch. They use the product page for the old product, which has all the old customer reviews from before. A lot of times, the descriptions and pictures are not properly updated to reflect the change. You see it for a lot of chassis updates (e.g. the model sold actually is a newer revision with USB3, unlike what the pictures and description says) and for Corsair's power supplies sometimes and some others.

Do note that any efficiency difference is marginal, and you'd be very well served by say a Rosewill Capstone 450-M or Seasonic G Series 450W:

Seasonic Platinums carry a premium for a reason though. Part of it is the lack of fan for the fanless models.
