Hey, for this I would strongly recommend an Intel. I do usually recommend AMD's, but for this budget, oh well...

CPU - Celeron d 356 $65
MOBO - ASRock 775Dual-VSTA OPENBOX $27
CASE - Rosewill R6A34 $35
DVD - LiteOn DVD Burner $29
PS - Hipro 300w $9
RAM - Simpletec 512mb DDR2 533 $40
HD - WD SATA 80gb $44
GPU - Something really cheap, such as a 256mb 9250, $33

I like my build, for the most part. Obviously, comprimises have to be made, I assume you have extra cables just piling up, so if you don't get them, ( I've ordered a couple open box motherboards and have recieved the accessories, but its not guaranteed). With that motherboard, you can overclock mildly, (I hit 3.75ghz with the same cpu and not even trying), and you can also upgrade just about everything, the cpu, gpu, and ram... The total only comes to $282, so you still have a little room to mess around. Anyway, good luck and thats my 2 cents, I'm off to bed...

Sorry I didn't link, I'm in a lazy mood right now.
