overclocking help with i7 3930k

I have oced my i7 3930k to 4.3 which is considerably safe with offset vcore setting. it has a -.09 dvid and i was wondering if someone could tell me what is a decent idle voltage? mines is sitting at .776v at 1200mhz. the voltage at full load is 1.24V i was wondering if i should increase the overclock multiplier? or should i just stick to overclocking it at 4.3 and lowering the voltage some more if it is stable at 1200mhz and .776v

edit the big question im asking is .776v a safe voltage to idle at? or wil it cause problems? and should i up my clock or fix my voltage some more?

well if the computer is automatically doing it then yes and for your overclock, you can push your chip a lot higher than that try upping the vcore voltage to something around 1.35-1.4v and then try to get your max overclock from there you should probably be able to hit at least 4.6-4.7Ghz

There is no point to take care about idle voltage. Consumption is the same as if it is 1.25V (if you put on manual - not offset ) .

If you don't have enough voltage, then the CPU can crash, basically because there isn't enough power supplied to do the work it is working on at the rate that it is working on it.

Other than that, low voltage isn't really an issue.

System stability aside, it's better for your CPU to have too low of a voltage than too high of one. So, because you want a stable system, you should aim for the lowest stable voltage level. This is done by testing the CPU under a full load (that is, 100% used) to see if it crashes.

The higher the OC, the higher the voltage at load will need to be for it to be stable. Avoid going over 1.4 for the Vcore. At 4.6GHz, 1.35 Vcore (including any dynamic adjustments there might or might not be) should be about enough. Of course you want to make sure the CPU temps are low enough. Try and keep the CPU temp below about 60° C, and the CPU core temps below about 75° C. Up to about 50° C for the CPU and 70° C for the CPU core temps is probably more ideal.

Sorry guys didn't mean to necro this but I tried to overclock the same specs to 4.5 and I'm not sure what intervals I should test it by, is it by .05 or is there a better way? Currently at 1.3 and working from there

Pretty much whatever you like as long as you're keeping it under safe limits. Maybe somewhat bigger increments, and then smaller ones to fine tune. ±0.05 V is probably big enough to start with. You'll get an idea of about what works at different clock rates.

To test for stability you'll want to run something that loads the CPU for some time (such as Prime95, Intel Burn Test, or similar) to see if the CPU can handle it. Of course be sure to monitor temps and measured Vcore levels.
