It's available; yes, big mistake to be on steam. $5 for a full game that was just released? Everything is about business and making money. I wouldn't waste my time coding for years to make a game for $5 or less. Even for $15 i wouldn't do it. I've seen games for free, but they are crap and don't really offer much.

Guess you've never heard of Indie games? Or games on sale? WarZ doesn't offer much. I'll point it out again. The claimed 100-400sq km maps. The current CO map that came with whatever version was on steam is estimated at around 10sq km. How can you defend that????

My personal assumption is all the flak this game is getting come's from the chunk of the player base that can't take the stress this game has with it. It is hard losing gear that you had to fight so hard to obtain, but that's just my opinion.

I fairly sure that most of the people buying the game have played DayZ...and are used to the idea of losing gear. In my opinion that is one thing good about it. However, that is enough of a death penalty. I will not wait four hours to play a game again. Though right now you really don't have to since the skills aren't in the game yet so there is nothing to prevent you from just deleting and making a new one.

I think the biggest thing I've seen thus far that is preventing me from playing it is that DayZ is less buggy and with more features...and the guns are not always guarded by hordes of undead so you don't "need" to buy a weapon with real world money. Plus there is that whole respawn thing...it is just insane.

I don't know. I just know people are comparing both the games against eachother. Like i said before, they should've just kept this in alpha/beta until everything is worked out. They made a huge mistake by putting it on steam.

Well people will compare similar and different things, it helps to give context. And I agree, this shouldn't have hit steam at this point, Hammerpoint's focus should've been bringing the features they advertised first. If your game is always changing primary features due to polls, your game has no shape or form and objective to what it wants to be. It ends up an abomination with ever changing features and you can't really advertise a game like that

"our game has stuff.....temporarily until the public changes it on a whim"

You could claim his math was wrong, but even other have only found it to be a max of 30-40km2.

Indie games with open world map and more than 100 servers? If you find me a online multiplayer game with zomies in a open world map for $5 and less let me know. Because the last time i heard there was only dayz and warz. I'm not defending the size of the map or their false advertisement. I'm just telling the truth about what i know and how i feel about the game.

Um..what? All I said was that I have purchased games at $5, some under $10, that offer a COMPLETE experience. No bugs, no missing features. I'm not saying WarZ isn't an open world MMO zombie game. Though, for FREE I can play Day-Z, so I don't quite see your argument...

http://dayzmod.com/

It's completely free, the maps are as big as advertised, you don't have to pay or wait 1-4 hours to respawn, all weapons are free, sometimes you can't even get in a game due to issues with Battleye and while it's still pretty terrible (bad zombie animations, terrible melee hit detection and you can break your legs when you prone near a wall) they aren't advertising it as completed, it's only made by a couple of people with no claims of working on big games such as LoL or Gears of War.

They don't ban you from their forums either if you say something bad or make legitimate criticisms against the game. Warz mods were even banning people and deleting their entire threads if they even mention "hacker"

That is why so many people are complaining about WarZ.

Well.. you do have to buy Arma II: CO tongue.gif but it is only $15 on GOG.com.
Yes i know it's free. I have it too. But most of the people playing it doesn't have arma II. So you would have to buy it before installing the mod, thus not free. I had to buy arma II in order to play dayz and i got it on sale for $22(chump change for everyone on this forum with a computer build that is over $600 or so.)
