I don't get how anyone can defend this game in it's current state. If you enjoy it fine, nothing wrong with that. But actually trying to attempt defending what went down and their ethics in general is ridiculous. To list a few points...

- If it's in Alpha or the claimed foundation release then micro-transactions shouldn't have been enabled at that point. Since the actual point of such a release is to encourage testing why put something in place which completely discourages it and is used by all the other developers to pull in revenue?
- You don't put an incomplete game on Steam or any store in general and then go a step further to not even mention it. And then top it off with a bunch of listed features which don't exist.
- Obviously what I mentioned above would stir up a lot of people and even more cause people to want refunds and warn others. As we all know people were getting banned from the War Z steam forum to mask it all up. Brilliant.
- Nobody should have to do research on the game they're buying especially to notice it's incomplete. Should people do research? Absolutely. But it should never be required to determine if the product is complete, bug free and lives up to what's promised. Example, I got FC3 recently. I got burned by FC2 and thus completely ignored FC3. But after seeing everyone going crazy about it after release and having a bunch of people wanting me to get it I gave in. No research at all, I just bought it since everything was positive. So yeah, purchases without research can happen in many situations.
- Titov sucks, I don't get how that can be overlooked. Hell, he was even blaming the community for everything when he was clearly in the wrong. His apology was telling everyone they were wrong, awesome.

Clearly no one is defending their ethics. I don't know where you got that from. I was just telling people that the game isn't a fail. It's just an opinion people are putting on the game. If most of the people is saying Warz sucks, why would you go and buy it and say it sucks too? WarZ was a huge controversial game in the PC community. Everyone should've known what was going down. If you don't then that's your own fault for buying the game.

Usually I'd agree, but considering the mass refunds of both the game itself and in-game purchases that valve is giving, and the GREATER MAJORITY of players taking them up on the offer, I'd say the "opinion" window closed long ago and it is now common knowledge that the game is broken in it's current state of feces.

I got it from reading all the new posts just now while half asleep, lol.

But honestly, the game clearly fails on the front it lives up to nothing that's been promised so far, it's clearly not ready for release and it has a micro-transaction system already put in.

You know Hammerpoint is probably just going to use this to their advantage...they likely wanted out of the game and were happy with the amount they've gotten from the preorders. So they pop it up on Steam and await the incoming storm. Ride it out and try your best to make it an ever bigger deal than it is and then say "Sorry, thanks to all the clueless gamers that can't understand that the game is a "Foundation Release" we are pulling the plug on the development to move onto other projects." Then that statement in their EULA about no refunds becomes very pertinent. They would just get to run off with the money that people paid directly to them to get into the game from their website and all the micro transactions. Which I am sure isn't a lot, but come on...they reused so much stuff from War Inc (even the name) that development was probably very copy and paste. So the overhead and development costs were probably very low and most of the money they got was gravy. Plus I am sure there will be plenty of people that don't take the Steam refund too.

I really hope not...but we will see. If they ever take out that respawn timer I'd probably buy the game, but I'd never put a dime towards the micro transactions.

You would think a game with a huge community, or so the devs claim, of people who already paid $20-$50 on the game, they would be a lot further along with their development.. especially considering the amount of assets that were reused from War Inc.

Well I was only thinking hypothetically on how some one with rather...unscrupulous...ways of thinking might do this to themselves. They knew what the shape of the game was when they launched it on Steam. They wrote the game's description and features. Did they really think the majority of people would be OK with it? No one can be that short sighted. So I can't help but feel this whole mess was brought on intentionally and that is the only outcome I can see that might make all this press actually be in their benefit.

...but I've never even heard of this Big Rigs/Midnight Race club...if old Sergey has done this type of scam before, I think it is just a little too convenient the way this is playing out.
