Everything I've read about this game and it's release to the pubic has been made clear that this was not a 'full release' game - but an alpha/beta. The only thing I feel that needs to be added to the steam page is the word BETA somewhere in there. To make it more clear that this game isn't in a finished state, but can be played. A lot like dota 2, if you will. Dota 2 is not in a state that I feel is ready for a release - yet the game has grown so much traction just because 'it's dota'.
The point of all this is - I can't figure out how people are saying this game is as bad as people say it is. I like it wwaaaayy more than dayz - if anything, I don't have to play the mini game that is the storage system of dayz. Good riddance to that pile. I don't enjoy having to manipulate my inventory just right, just to get something to work. That's the number 1 reason I decided to try war z out.
Granted, war z has quite a list of things that still need to be ironed out, but that's what patches are for. As long as the developers keep up with the issues that crop up, I see no reason to believe this can't be a full fledged, and flourishing gameworld to enjoy.
I am going to have to stop you dead in your tracks and put you in line.....
The hatred towards this game is mainly due to being lied to about the product, period. Second, it has not been made clear that it isn't a "full release", in fact the Dev was asked if it is an Alpha or Beta and they completely refuted the idea and said it is a "Foundation Release", whatever in gods name that is. So you are utterly wrong on the game, it is absolutely being sold as something other than an Alpha or Beta, you can't say it isn't and call it this "Foundation Release" and then when people complain turn around and go "Well it isn't a full release yet...". Sorry, this is build 1.0 on Steam, being sold for profit, and has a working micro-transaction system.
This is their retail release! You can not argue that.
Now going back to the hatred part and why people are saying it is bad; It is because they purchased a retail released product that advertised a multitude of features, and these features aren't even in the game!

There is a ton of places for you to explore, tons of features in the works that will make the game a fuller experience, and anyone qq'ing about the game being a fraud is an idiot. And did I really read a comment about a "tiny map"? The map is huge already. It takes literally hours of walking to safely traverse from one side to the other. How on earth is that tiny?
Sorry, this isn't true. The Dev was asked, very specifically, if it was an Alpha or Beta and they said no. This is an obvious lie to entice people to purchase the game, as very few people will throw money at a game that is in Alpha or Beta. Even fewer will throw money at a game that only has half the advertised features...Edited by PostalTwinkie - 12/19/12 at 8:11am
