[Build Log] Mini-Me - ITX NZXT Phantom with 4770K, Impact, GTX 780 Lightning, all watercooled in 14L - Page 8

I ment unplug the cable in both ends and put it in the opposite way. In my head that would be right smile.gif

I wouldn't though. If I turn the pattern 180* the pattern will be the same. No matter which way I turn the cable when I plug it in the pattern is the same. The pattern would have to be turned 90* or be mirrored in order to match the other one, which neither can be done obviously.

Also, because one end is a male plug and the other is a female plug, they cannot be switched.

So you sleeved it the wrong way, IMHO. You need to turn the cable round and the stripes will align properly... even if the terminals are wrong, re-do.

The cooling loop is a mess, at least cool the ALL pump outlet through the 120mm radiator before feeding it to the blocks, partial feed to MOSfet block is a waste of cooling capacity, IMHO.

Brave man to hack a case to bits, good luck !

I respect your opinion about the sleeving, but since it's my build, it's only wrong I care about if the stripes line up, which I don't. I can understand some people wanting to do that, but it doesn't bother me.

The loop design is a mess, but we disagree on why. It's not going to be the final though; I need to edit it out. As for loop order, that makes almost no difference when there's plenty of flow, because temps will equalize within a few min. Also, the VRMs and MOSFETS on X79 get quite hot when overclocking heavy, which I do, so putting them underwater will have a positive effect on that, and if nothing else, it looks good.

As far as being brave, moreso just having a clear vision of the finished product. I've cut, welded, and molded on hundreds of various projects long before I became a PC enthusiast.

Ha ... awesome.
I was searching on a wrong key words and was getting nothing. Even much of the sites I visited didn't have this pattern. Awesome, thank you
