So the Sekusui thermal tape I've been using just comes off right away. Like I put the 1cm wide sawed AM2 heatsink on my mosfets (tape applied to heatsink, not the mosfets this time), cleaned with IPA and all.
The think would just fall off and I'd have a big, metal, piece of heatsink free falling in my computer (so dangerous...). Usually it just tips over and sits on the i/o panel or something but one time it started to get into a running fan blade, thank god it didnt break it.
I then layed my computer on it's side and thought maybe to like 'cure' it, i run it for 12 hours on it's side, so the heatsink is assisted by gravity, onto the board. I then sat it back upright the next day, everything seemed fine for 12 hours of p95, i got to bed, and the thing is now like barely hanging on, just only stuck on on the bottom.
pain in the ass. I gotta unmount my nh-d14 for this. Which always ends up tearing out my cpu, which has a ton of bent pins and such, so that is always a bit scary (yes im aware, twist it off, slow, etc, but the nh-d14 is so big, you dont even realize you ripped the cpu off...).
Is there any way to cure this thing? Should I leave it on for a week sideways or something?
On another note, what's the best permanent thermal glue ;/
I can say for sure that the sekisui thermal tape that I bought is better than 3m thermal tape.
thanks for the great input, you horse toothed jackass!
