Quote:
"Since the very beginning, our brand has been identified with the colour black," said Jürgen Geßler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group.

The P'9981 Black has a 1.2GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage, with a microSD card slot capable of expanding that by up to a further 32GB. It comes with a 16GB microSD card in the box.

It runs on BlackBerry 7.1 and features a customised Porsche Design user interface and an exclusive, premium Blackberry-Messenger-PIN. Its lush casing is stainless steel encased in black plastic.

Sale Price: $2,000

To be fair, Porche is the second best car manufacturer in the world (Behind Bugatti, of course).
Owning the latest and greatest isn't cheap. tiredsmiley.gif

Design is not bad, but its certainly not worth the 2k price. The font choice on the keys kills any value I see in this thing though.

Blackberry Curve 2.0 and slow as hell.

Next time Porsche partner with Samsung, then you can have a phone to match those beautiful 911 turbos.

Owning the latest and greatest isn't cheap.

Porches trumps over bugatti as a car manufacturer. Just because its the most expensive doesnt mean its the best. In terms a success and revenue, its no where near porche. Bugatti is actually really slow on a race track, its been only design for 1 thing, straight line speed. its race track times are mediocre because it cant turn!

I cannot believe Porsche would design a keyboard like that...

It looks way too militaristic and dare I say "gaudy" to be their design.

Bugatti is controlled by VW group (like Lamborghini) which is controlled by Porsche...and Veyron was not designed on an blank sheet of paper by Bugatti, but it is a technology platform for Group VW...nough said.

And imho Veyron is UGLY and tacky. Porsche and ofc the Italian legend auto-manufacturers make not only just as fast, but prettier cars too. Koenigsegg did a better job too tbh.

Also, it is "Porsche Design"...not Porsche. Same house, different companies.
The phone will be well-made apparently, but it looks just like a 2004-5 BB. I would expect more for this price tag, sorry Porsche, this is not a "classic 911 profile" that you should maintain.
I know Apple has the exclusivity of "ripping" off Braun designs, but we are supposed to move forward, even if we have to look what inspired design in the 60s-70s.

This is how I feel about it:

1) Poor hardware.
2) Poor screen.
3) Non-tactile.
4) Poor design.
5) Poor features.
6) Poor OS.
7) Poor price.

Overall, a poor device with a way, WAY overpriced tag.

Being Porsche branded I'd expect that the screen, keys and battery are optional extras?
