Yes it was spread out nice and even I've tested the edge of the ihs with a razor blade and there didn't seem to be a gap for it to fit in but I can't figure out what else it could be.

how tight did you have the heatsink spring loaded if there are springs you use for they screws that attaches the heatsink to the pcb?

There aren't any springs on the screws. I just snug them down and it seems to bring it together plenty since the tim gets spread out nicely.

I tried looking for a spot to get a razor blade in but it didn't want to budge. Really stumped on what to do with this now frown.gif it's a nice card that won't keep cool.

Couple pics...

Well its a good thing that the IHS is still firmly secured to the GPU. Pull the heatsink out of the shroud and make sure there isn't dust blocking the fins.

Edit: I was looking around and these cards randomly starting to overheat seems to happen quite often. Maybe contact EVGA and see if they can help your out. The guy who posted this thread said it was dust that was causing his card to overheat.

Yea that's an option I guess but I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty.

Did you pull the heatsink out of the shroud and check to see if it was clogged up?

Oh yes I thoroughly cleaned the heatsink the first time I applied thermal paste. It wasn't very dusty had a little crud to brush off that's all.

This is were your razerblade goes:

haha hopefully my MSpaint skillz showd the way. You set the razerblade there flat, try to wedge it or get the razerblade so that it just starts to fit that opening, then tap away on the razer, should come off with little effort. Be careful though! you tap in the razerblade too far and it'll hit a resistor and kill the card

Yea maybe it's my fat fingers or I need to try a different blade but I couldn't get it in there any way shape or form. Lucky I didn't shave off one of the little components beside it frown.gif
