With that high of an OC, samsung. Go with a good 1866 9-9-9-24 simple OC and keep the dram voltage as low as humanly possible. It just might save you a tiny bit of voltage off your CPU.

Oh and for the love of god, don't get 16GB. Even with 8GB you are still going to need to somewhat win the silicon lottery to hit 5ghz.

I may settle for 4.8 o.c. if it keeps it more stable and thanks for the help.

OCF will clock any RAM you trow at it ,the only one i would avoid is Hypers ,would recommend 2400C9 as it the best performance/price memory available for Ivy Bridge .

@Tjj226 Angel i would like to know why are you saying .." keep the dram voltage as low as humanly possible. It just might save you a tiny bit of voltage off your CPU..."kookoo.gif and why would you recommend (1866 9-9-9-24) for Ivy ?? LMAO

You can lower your CPU voltage by a hair with lower dram voltage. At least that is how my 3770K works. If my dram voltage is at 1.5v, I need 1.42 volts for a stable 4.9ghz. At 1.4v dram I need 1.415v, and at 1.35v I need 1.4v dead. If I were to do 1.4v on my cpu with 1.5v on my dram, prime instantly dies. I know it is not my ram overclock, because if I had no CPU overclock, I can get my ram stable at 2400mhz with 1.65v and have it be prime stable (48 hours).

So that is my observation with CPU voltage and how it relates to dram voltage.

Why did I recommend and 1866 OC instead of like 2133 or better? To keep the Dram voltage low for the same reason as what I just said above while still having a respectable ram speed.
