Ahh, see I already had UPlay installed. When I installed with Steam, it did a little magic, opened UPlay and then UPlay downloaded the game, at the max of my connection.

Yeah, for me Steam would download the game, uPlay would then be installed and downloaded along with DirectX, etc as per usual, then uPlay would patch, then uPlay would patch the game, then it'd finally start it.

You know what, I don't care who buys them so long as the projects don't all die and the talented and dedicated devs keep their jobs. Do we really want people with that much talent out on the streets looking for work? We all complain about timeframes already for games... how does 'never' strike you?

I just hope that whoever buys them lets them operate as they have been. THAT would be the wise business decision to make, and frankly, i'd almost be willing to put my support behind that hedge fund (or whoever) that was looking to buy them. Surely these businessmen will know that the best way to help a company make money is to stay out of it's way if you don't know what you're doing. I'm not sure Ubisoft would be so inclined to see things the same way since they already feel like they've got it all under control... they'd likely assimilate THQ to function as they do and that could cause a lot of issues.

Time will tell, when we see who actually buys, we'll be more inclined to make accurate predictions on the repurcussions to the consumers (US). I'm hopeful we all benefit though.
