[Nordic Hardware] 7970 GHz Vs 680 microstuttering and uneven render times - Page 3

I couldnt see a difference on the on the non slow mo videos. All i know it its a good thing i dont play games in slow motion. I would still buy a 7950-70 over a 680-670.

The only thing that i see that both cards has some latency except in bordelands for the gtx680. Otherwise this amount of latency shouldnt be a problem for both cards

BF3 is a game that both AMD and Nvidia have put extensive driver optimizations for and it shows. AMD is on par with Nvidia here.

Borderlands 2 is an nvidia optimized game, the worked with the devs and even implimented their own proprietary software into it.

Skyrim is a fair game to test, AMD should have pulled up their socks in that game by now. But the 7970 isn't terrible in it either.

I don't understand why they put a Game that heavily favors Nvidia Cards like BL2 in here, they should put Dirt Showdown if they want to play that game.

Ha. There goes Raghu, finding every GPU thread he can, praising the gods at AMD. Yeah the AMD IQ has always been miles ahead of Nvidia. AMD never tried to gain performance by sacrificing IQ... Mmm hmm (Nvidia site, but 3rd-party sources cited in the article). But you're right. I'm sure their whole philosophy changed with the 7000-series and they don't do this stuff anymore rolleyes.gif

Comparing IQ here is pointless anyway, the videos are taken by filming the screen, we don't know the lighting conditions in the room at the time of each test (might be different times for different tests) etc.

I actually came into this thread to see what he'd say, because I knew he'd be in here. I just didn't expect him to start tossing around nonsense like IQ. Which was still hilarious, mind you.

Yep. Never fails. When he can't say anything about the actual topic, so he changes the subject to find a way to bash them. It's kind of sad thumb.gif

Well said. Plus since it's obviously not even about IQ, who knows what settings they left at default just because.

Skyrim in Crossfire is pretty disappointing. Certain areas cause it to choke massively like the DB cave - huge frame drops and stutter that doesn't happen with only one gpu enabled. Not sure what it's like in SLI so can't say for sure whether or not it's the game or it's AMD not doing enough

I have been critical of AMD , their high end CPU performance and their multi GPU drivers. its a pity that you choose to see what you want to see. I quoted my personal experience even though its an older Nvidia card.BTW i don't care about what you think rolleyes.gif

Saying one small thing about AMD in an attempt to seem impartial just so you can go on a bash-fest about Nvidia, pertaining to something that the topic isn't even about, doesn't justify it. Every thread it's the same thing.
