Take a moment and consider what you are doing.
"you are building a pc for someone"

that someone obviously cant build or troubleshoot computers,
hence they cannot overclock and take care of components properly.

the FX6300 can be easily overclocked, but are you willing to go at your friends every time something goes wrong?
or just get a locked i5 and let him enjoy a problem free stock setup for the next few years, even without cleaning.

In my experience, it is best to build stock setups for people who know nothing about computers
Unless you want them to call you everytime the computer wont turn on

His friend can mess up the Intel system even worse if he gets in the BIOS and starts tinkering with the bus clock. All he has to do is lock the BIOS with a password regardless which cpu he gets. Problem solved.

You could probably get ahold of the vendor to get an updated bios chip.
