The FX 6300 CPU is a best buy no matter how we look at it.
It s all about the motherboard if the user has a good experience with a FX CPU.
So many throttle them and manual tweaking is needed.

Dromi can you point me to those tests I'm really thinking about updating to one an need some more info so i can finally make up my mind

Edit: 980 is taking Fx 6300 lunch http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/amd_fx_8350_and_fx_6300,6.html

That is an absolutely awful bench. All three games they benched were GPU bound. The first hint should've been when the FX-4170 came in first, and beat the i7 3770k in the first bench.

The 980 vs 6300 is an odd comparison, because the 980 is actually clocked 200MHz higher, that being said, you'd expect the 980 to win most benches, but it doesn't. It loses most, and trades blows in gaming. The 6300 can definitely overclock quite a bit (up to 1300MHz) which is more than the 980 can (Which is already ~500MHz of it's average max clock.)

I'm disputing or anything but can you point me to some benches that show the 6300 vs 980, I'd appreciate it very much.
My B65 is clocked @ 4.1 I'm trying to get to 4.2, and as I stated the 6300 is very intriguing and am seriously contemplating the upgrade??? Quite a few OCNers say its not really worth, it so I'm not sure what to do atm.

Since the 6300 has a higher OC like you stated that changes everything.
I have 2 coolers to choose from, a Corsair A70 and an Antec 620 push/pull. An option could be, put the Antec on my GPU and A70 on Cpu

I've got a FX-6300 O.C.'d at 4.76 Ghz and 1.3V VCore stable full load under 55 degrees aircooled on a microATX board (having an 8 pin cpu power connection and good psu helps achieve this).

O.C.'d my single Radeon hd 7850 to 1050 core 1350 mem smile.gif
