Xbox 360 Hard Drive Adapter? - Page 2

You can, you just need to rip open the 360 HDD unit and plop in your own 2.5" SATA drive. The proprietary connector on the 360's external HDD is just SATA and power.

thats to hook your 360 hard drive to your computer to back up your gamesaves and whatnot, or to transfer music to the hard drive. not something to replace the 20gb hard drive with like a 100gb hard drive

DO NOT rip open your 360 HDD and just drop in any notebook drive. It will not work. MS has data on the drive that identifies it. You can't just stick anything in there. If you want to store media like videos and stuff, then you can use any USB hard drive. Gamesaves have to go to the official 360 HDD or a memory card.

Seriously.

If you really want information about all things XBOX, then you should visit a site such as http://xbox-scene.com. You will find the most accurate and reliable information there. I have to concede that it is a better resource than the XBOX section here. Unless one of us XBOX gurus is on here.
