Budget 5800K gaming rig

Thread Starter
I'm looking to build a cheap gaming PC, I plan on reusing some of my components (Monitor, PSU, hard drive, keyboard, copy of Windows 7 Pro x64, speakers) Here is my proposed build:

My target was ~$350, but I wanted to throw in the sound card for my HD 555's. Not bad for 720p PC gaming I think biggrin.gif Thoughts?

Good build. But you seem to be lacking a power supply. & I'm not a fan of logitech mice smile.gif.

I will be reusing my Antec PSU, and I had a G500 when I had my gaming rig, it's on sale so I figured why not biggrin.gif

Yeah, as long as you've used a g500 before and liked it. I just hate the shape of logitech mice, apparently they're quality otherwise. Their 'hump' is too tall for me. Not nearly as comfy as my Mionix Naos 3200 biggrin.gif.

Heads up, you can combo any gigabyte motherboard with any of the APU's for -30 dollars off(not sure if the boards support above 1866, or if gigabyte just doesn't advertise it). Also, most FM2 motherboards will combo with a APU for -12/10 dollars.

*edit*

To avoid any shipping fees, I suggest you do this. Will not work for cases though(unless it already has free shipping)..

*edit*

If you're interested, this case is for the same price as yours, with the discount code, but has free S&H.

Good find, but not sure about that above 1866 support though, but it does support SATA 6gbs, the asus doesn't (even though I will be re-using my Spinpoint) Decisions decisions..

Edit- Yeah I will take advantage of shoprunner with a different email biggrin.gif I like the Silverstone case because I am pretty lacking in space, plus i has USB 3.0. It will be in a computer desk

Yeah, looking at micro atx mid towers, looks like the silverstone is the cheapest, with shipping included.

Also, looking at gigabytes memory page is confusing to say the least, but all their boards appear to support XMP up to 2133, they just don't put it on newegg(But then again, I can't figure if it's dual channel or single channel at anything above 1866).

*edit* Looks like they do only support 1866 in dual channel, shame.

Hmm, I know the 7660D benefits with higher than 1866mhz RAM, so it's gonna be a tough choice, especially since 1866 and 2133mhz ram can be had for the same price
