Need a list - Page 8

I am planning to get my first water cooling loop. I have already ordered switch 810 and corsair psu.
So, the idea is to set the loop for my current CPU i7 920, then to reuse it when I upgrade to LGA 2011 (when the price drops smile.gif )
I will do GPU cooling after lga 2011 upgrade is done, so for now CPU only (which I want to overclock)
Target is to have this loop quiet, if quiet setup can only be achieved, let's say, on 4Ghz - I am OK with that.
I have searched and read some topics, and that is what I came up with:

Do I miss something?

Looking at that list, unless they are described in the actual product page, it seems you are missing these:
Clamps
Coolant

Also, that is a great Water Block, and Im sure a lot of people will say it is the best, but check out this Water Block Round Up HERE. The poll from that Round Up can be found HERE too. The one you have selected is an amazing Water Block and it is a very popular choice. There are only a couple others that perform better and since I dont know if you want the best or not, I'll leave that to you. If you stick with it or get another, it wont make that big of a difference.
As far as quietness goes, as long as you are sure those fans are quiet at the speed you want (as well as the Pump), you are good to go for those.

Edit: Just know that the Pump you have selected doesnt seem to have a Pump Top. That particular Res doesnt require one because it actually has one built in, but if you ever got another Res you might need a Pump Top for it.

Thank you! I think I will continue with the current water block. Not really planning to change reservoir.. smile.gif

About the fans:

http://www.noiseblocker.de/en/BlackSilentPro140.php

PK1 700rpm 9dba
PK2 1200rpm 20 dba
PK3 1700rpm 27 dba

I am also buying corsair link to control them... does it make sense to buy 1700rpm and slow them down to 1000 rpm with controller?
This way I can still have 1700 rpm speed available if I need that at some point...

But if I buy 1200 rpm.. I don't think that possible to speed them up to 1700, is it?

about the GPU cooling in future..
Will additional radiator with 2 fans incorporated in the same loop be ok? (single GPU cooling)
for such card

p.s. about the coolant and etc. Do I need some sort of corrosion inhibitor to be used in this setup, I read that with copper block it's OK... If I am using distilled water from some local store?

Make sure you use hose clamps or zip ties for the tubing.
The Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 360 Radiator is a rad I would get if your budget allows this. You also have to make sure your case can support the rad you want.
Looks good to me I would get the XSPC Raystorm block. This is the best budget block out there and comes close to the ek. I don't know if eks nickel issue has been resolved because I have seen some issues in the past.
You can use XSPC Fans 1650 they will be cheaper.
All you need is a 360 rad for a cpu and gpu.
Hydroflow coppers are not great blocks they are really restrictive.

You dont need 1700rpm fans. You match the fans with the radiator you want.
You can buy distilled water at a local grocery store. I don't use any corrosion inhibitors. You can mix brass, cooper, nickel and stainless steel and should not have a major issue.
I would not force a fan that goes beyond its intended speed specifications

switch 810 has space for 420mm rad...

will that Nexos 360 be better than the 420mm rad?

You really don't need a 420 rad. If you are only cooling a cpu and gpu you just need a 360, but if the 420 rad is cheaper I would say go for it.

I hope that with 420mm rad I can use lower rpm on the fans (a bit more quiet) ...
and that 420mm is only $10 more expensive...
If you think it is worth it, you should get the 420. You can always add another GPU into the loop later or have it in case you want to do something else.
