Difference between these two kits, which one is better

I was looking at corsair vengeance low profile 8GB memory modules and I found two very similar ones but can't tell the difference except for the colour. They're also priced the same.

Here are the model numbers:

CML8GX3M1A1600C10

CML8GX3M1A1600C10B

both have the same tech specs

How ever if I look at 32GB kits containing 4 of each then the latency slightly varies:

32GB with 4 CML8GX3M1A1600C10 has a tested latency of 9-10-9-27 and a SPD latency (I really don't know what this means) of 9-10-9-27.

32GB with 4 CML32GX3M4A1600C10B has a tested latency of 10-10-10-27 and a SPD latency of 9-9-9-24

The pricing for both of them is the same= 195 USD

So which of the two 32gb kit is better? Can I also buy 4 kits of single 8gb modules to achieve the same results?

RAM kits are made of sticks from the same batch so they perform / clock similarly for the best compatibility. Other than that there's no real advantage (aside from the price. the kits are usually cheaper than single packages).
So I would buy a kit if you're considering 32 GB.

The "B" at the end of the model number denotes the colour: Blue in this case.

In regards to the timings: No idea why the blues are slower than the blacks for the 32 GB kit... but this is OCN, we set our own timings thumb.gif

Do note as well that a 32GB kit likely won't get the speeds you could get with an 8 or 16 GB kit due to the stress on the IMC.

Either way, the difference in performance won't be huge and you can likely tweak the timings yourself some more so if the blue sticks look better to you then just get those wink.gif

EDIT:
It's these kits right?

SPD speed and latency are just the "stock" profiles in the RAM. When you plug them in and leave everything RAM-related in the BIOS on auto then they'll run at those speeds. 1333 CL9 is pretty much industry standard.
The tested latency and speed is what corsair tested them and confirmed they work at.
But as I said: chances are high you can improve on these latencies with some tweaking of your own.

I was looking at retailers in belgium for these two kits and I found a substantial price difference between the two, although it may be because I was comparing from two different retailers:

one is selling the black ones for 180 euros over here:

http://www.alternate.be/html/product/Corsair/32_GB_DDR3-1600_Quad-Kit/1011703/?event=search

this one is selling the blue kit for just 150 euros:

http://webshop.eurosys.be/nl/componenten/geheugenmodules/ddr3-1600mhz-32g-4x240-dimm-unbuffered-cml32gx3m4a1600c10b-p379509

can anyone tell why is there a price difference between the 2 retailers?

<== Belgian as well wink.gif

I use beslist.be and hardware.info to find the best prices. Getting something from the Nethelands or Germany is often cheaper as well (do look at the shipping costs first though).

Alternate can be quite expensive for a lot of things, but very good service and they deliver fast. But yea, the price is just wrong and their shipping rates are high as well.
Komplett.be and tones.be are my favourite Belgian shops.
For a dutch shop I can recommend azerty.nl but their shipping is quite high as well. Good, friendly service though.

Just try to find a decent shop with the lowest price wink.gif (Alternate is milking their name, they used to be cheaper)
