Does anyone have a 3D model of the RV02?
Well, I got the case and man..!! It's heavy..!! Can't wait to get home later so I can migrate my stuff to the new case.. biggrin.gif

The dude really didn't budge until I pointed out a few flaws [which I can easily overcome] which I will outline:

1. Missing PCI slot cover. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

2. One of the thumb screws was different. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

3. Two screws were missing, plus I have to sleeve those wires. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And this is on top of the one missing 3.5mm front bay cover. I'm gonna have to clean her our then shine her up and post the new setup when it's done. smile.gif

But there was one good thing about it, the 120mm exhaust fan turned out to be an AF120. Only sad thing was that it's riveted to the case so I'll have to drill that out if I want to replace it. Kind of having mixed feelings on that. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I know, it's dirty. I'll be cleaning that up too.

Hey guys, just joined the site. I've got an RV03 with gold trim. l8nytalumni did you drill and tap the holes to mount the plexiglass or did you use some other method?
Really like the looks of that mod! I've got an H100i on the way so I'll post some pics later once it comes in. May toss up some shots of it as it is now too.

Okay. So, I have a question about the 180mm fans on the RV-02 and would appreciate it if someone could explain to me how it works.

It has a 3-pin fan header then another set of cables that go to the on-board fan controller [that's the fan controller, right?]. The 3-pin header is supposed to go to my motherboard and the on-board fan controller can tell the fan to go 700rpm or 1000rpm. But you probably know all that.

So here are my questions:
[1] What if I snip the second set of wires that go to the on-board fan controller and just have the 3-pin header connect to my motherboard, will it always run on 1000rpm?
- This is assuming my motherboard [Sabertooth 990FX R2.0] can produce enough grunt [12V 0.30A per header].

[2] If I purchase an aftermarket fan controller, can I snip the second set of wires and just have the 3-pin header connected to the fan controller?

Reason I'm asking this is because I want to dump the second set of wires that go to the built in fan controller for aesthetics and better cable management.

Thank you in advance for your good counsel. smile.gif

I dont have RV02. But I have RV03 and I am not sure if you have same fan but I believe it is same AP181 fans

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835220039

anyway, I believe if you cut the cables going to the fan controller, the fan wont work. It is possible though if you connect red and black cable

then you should get all the time full RPM

i recently changed my fans before to AP182

Thanks for posting that, nightfox. I'm at the office now and don't have the exact model number of the fan but it looked like this: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Anyway, I decided to keep the fan controller. It did not look aesthetically pleasing but I sleeved it and it's doesn't piss me off that much anymore. tongue.gif
