Some help on my first gaming build.

Thread Starter
Hey.

So this is the first time im building a gaming pc and i have some doubts about what should i pick.

So first ill be gaming, photoshoping and video rendering.

There are 2 ways i may go, one is Intel and the other one is Intel as i dont know anything else that ca be viable(and i dont hate AMD, thats they way i found to say that i dont like their actual CPU's), so i can go socket 1155(1) or socket 2011(2):

Build 1:
Asus P8Z77-V Pro
I7-3770K
Asus GTX 680
Corsair AX750W or maybe an NZXT Hale90 750W
SSD 120 GB(probably one of kingston)
8GB or 16GB of ram(kingston probably)
Corsair 500R or Cooler Master HAF X or Cooler Master Cosmos II
Corsair H100 (idk if i should do push/pull or just push or just pull and i will use corsair SP120 fans)
So why i have put cosmos II on that list, because i can buy a cosmos II at the price of an Haf X.

Build 2:
Asus P9X79 Pro or Asus Rampage IV Extreme
i7-3930K
Asus GTX 680
Corsair AX850W or maybe an NZXT Hale90 850W
SSD 120 GB(probably one of kingston)
8GB or 16GB of ram(kingston probably)
Corsair 500R or Cooler Master HAF X or Cooler Master Cosmos II
Corsair H100 (idk if i should do push/pull or just push or just pull and i will use corsair SP120 fans)

So let me make some explanations now:
- Why i want kingston, asus and Cooler Master products?
-- Because i can get them by lower prices then u find them on the shops. I can get MSI produts cheaper too.
I would go for a seasonic PSU if u knew which to pick as i can find them at lower prices too.

I want a good airflow on my build because i wont watercool my GPU and i want her cool enough so i can play games fine.

I also dont know if i should overclock my CPU or GPU or maybe both.

Can someone help me.

Im here to hear some other sugestions about other products.

Thanks a lot.

If money isnt really a factor, id go with the second build, as the extra 2cores on the 3930k should give your better performance then the 3770k..

My notes from reading you builds:

-120GB SSD is pennies, get atleast 180GB-256GB, you will want to put games on there and you never want to use more then 65%-70% of your SSD's available storage.
-The Cosmos II and H100 are a great combination.

As far as overclocking after 4.0Ghz there is no difference in performance for real world games and most applications, but your going to want to be atleast 4.0Ghz -5.0Ghz 24/7 with a nice build like that.
Most importantly, I see that you have not posted a monitor, probable GPU or gaming resolution. These are very important and need to be decided before you continue planning out the build.

But, it will be very nice!

Thats what i was thinking, since i can get an 3930k at the same as someone would a buy a 3770k so there is no problem with that, but what should i pick for the case, the fans on the rad, the PSU and which motherboard, p9x79 or rampage IV?

Id pick the corsair psu anyday over the nzxt, and for cases its mainly what you prefer for looks , but the haf-x and cosmos 2 will perform better then the 500r, and i dont think the features of the rampage IV will be any use to you. so id recommend the p9x79 for price, but i personally like the color scheme of the rampage better, im getting a rampage board for my build, but the Gene not the extreme
