tec chiller but i NEED your help

Thread Starter

so if you had one of those /\ what eight tec's would you run?

i believe the best placement for tecs would be x2 per wing of heatsink + water blocks.

heatsink dimensions are 7" by 7" 6" tall. I will use two delta pwn 252cfm fans.

I am not sure how to calculate surface area to figure how many watts i could cool, google was no help.

thanks in advance!

i found the heatsink was intended to cool x4 2N3055 transistors. i believe they produce 115w x 4 trans = 460W. this will be cooling a folding comp that is q6600 @4.0. i am still trying to decide what tecs to run. ill keep searching and reading

i have been reading alot and i think the best choise for tec will be 12706 @12v 8a

my current plan is this 750w meanwell 24v 32a psu. two series circuits(12v 32a) powering two parellel circuits of two tecs. eight tecs @ 12v 8a. i hope powering it this was will provide best results.

i wait now for parts

so i ordered tecs. decided to start with 4 and see what temps are possible before trying eight.

Interested in seeing results.

Usually TECs and air cooling don't go together very well, but it looks like this has been researched a lot more then just sticking a $40 CPU cooler on the hot side of a TEC.
