Don't use prime 95. It's mostly used for single core CPUs. Use SP2004, it uses the same test as P95, its just dual threaded to totally test your processor. And you can't pass the tests, they go on infinitely. Your CPU is usually considered completely stable at about 12 hours.

wow 48 should be max load your saying your on bigwater se...i have the same bigwater se (which isn't tooo great for oc'ing-- needs new pump and maybe new radiator) but you need to keep your max load under or as close to 50c as possible higher than that is going to burnnnnnn

Whats wrong with using Prime 95 on each core like I said? There is a tutorial on here on how to do it. You need to set CPU affinity in the task manager for it but it works fine. And most people say 8 hours is fine...

Nothing, its just more convenient to use a program that doesn't require you to read a tutorial on, and not have to set core affinity. Fine, it doesn't matter how long you test it, but the 4 hours you don't test it could be instability in the future. Test yours for 8 hours, I don't care.

And, yes, you need to get those temps fixed. 60C is getting into the danger zone for Athlon 64s. Get a better cooler, like the Big Typhoon, which is down to about $40 now, and get some Arctic Silver 5, and you're set for some serious air overclocking.

how is your case cooling? what fans do have keeping the general case cool? good airflow in the case is fital.and can make a big difference in temps. but it sounds like ur w/c isn't doin to well. a big typhoon would be a gd move. i wouldn't go pushing any further with your temps gettin close to 60 until you get better cooling. so far you've done a good job.

Oh snap, I didn't realize you had WC. You should be getting way better temps than that, even with a kit. Do you have any Arctic Silver 5? Its pretty much the best thermal compound made, and I think it would be wise to reapply your waterblock with some. Don't use too much, only use a dot about the size of an uncooked grain of rice in the center of the cpu.
