Yeah surround is definitely off. I flip it on after opening the software and can notice the change.

Since you have the headset as well, would you confirm what I am observing? Turn all that stuff off, close software.. listen, then open software? thumb.gif

Still an issue, I just don't open the software at all and try to forget that I'm missing out. If anyone has any insight feel free to share smile.gif

I have a similar issue. Whenever I open the software the sound volume suddenly halves (or feels like halved). To return to the previous level I have to crank it up to the top. I'm not really sure if the quality is superior with the software, I actually like to listen to my music in 5.1 and for teamspeak I only care that the comms are clear and noise free. I'm just annoyed that I'm unable to listen my music to whatever level I want. I wonder if its a feature to avoid people from blasting their ears.

PS: I'm aware of hearing loss and I don't play music too loud. Its just annoying to have to change it to the desired volume.
