ASUS Maximus V Formula Socket 1155 -- Error Code 55 HELP - Page 2

Thread Starter
Talked to an asus rep on the phone and he said 99% they won't replace it under warranty and will probably make me pay $120 to repair it.

Glad I'm paying $450 total for a $290 mobo at this point. Not sure I can recommend either of these companies, asus or newegg

starting also to dislike ASUS, as i did physical damage to my sabertooth board. (was in a rush and broke the PCI E clip) and the mobo still works fine its just. They wouldnt cover it under the TUF warranty, which is strict enough as it is. I dont mind paying for it as it was my fault. But i was looking for a thread about the Gene V cuz i just got mine a few days ago and i need some input. (im also about to check my pins) but did your motherboard come bent like the board it self? mine takes at least a 3 to 5 degree turn and i know motherboards can bend due to heat and such but this! i havent even gotten my CPU / turned the thing on yet and its bent! .......mad.gif so did yours come like this? and also sorry man, ^^^^ all this.. it just sucks. im getting nervous enough these days buying computer parts, and newegg is starting to drift away from my "awesome purchase site" as they suck you in with the return shipping and then say... hmm nope sorry bye. and you just wasted 10-15 bucks.

anyway

im also thinking i might look into another board manufacturer for my future builds as alot these days are just, well? straight out *******s

Hence my only reason I buy my boards/CPU from Micro Center or ebay (no matter what you say they have good buyer protection).

And for anyone having issues with newegg lately, I would say feel free to file a payment dispute with your card company or paypal buyer protection. Pretty sure once they have a few ppl file claims against them they will go back to the good ole days of good customer service.

If its just sitting it should not bend. I have bought a mobo from ebay, but I did not leave any feedback till I was able to make sure it worked.

If you received it the way it is, and it don't power on, then don't be afraid to open a case with ebay.
