Once that's started, you can "browse" to your stick and load the file and flash it.
Also with ASUS boards you can just put in your mobo CD, and reboot PC. It will auto-restore BIOS to the file when you put it out your mobo-box wink.gif (never tried it tho tongue.gif)

I have an asrock board, not an asus, and this entire problem stems from the fact that I can't access my bios

I did exactly this. I created a bootable usb using this guide and put the DOS Bios flash file from here on it. I booted it up and nothing happened. Is this not the right kind of format for the flash drive? What did you use?

fear not friend! at the absolute worst case asrock boards always have replaceable BIOS chips. if nothing above works for you, order one of these and swap em out!

if you could tell us what mobo might be able to help you. if you are getting nothing and your pc crashed during the bios update you might have to get a new bios chip. i would contact ASRock tech support and let them know what's up to get RMA in process..

he told us the exact board he has and really there is no point to RMA the board when the chip is replacable and can be found cheap on ebay (my previous post in this thread) and will get the problem solved MUCH quicker.
